Get Lit!

Updated: Dec 3, 2020

Chanukah will be here next week and whether you are entertaining family at home or need a quick gift for the hostess with the hostess here is a quick roundup of some beautiful items that will light up your holiday weekend!

First and foremost get the menorah ready! If you are like me- you might still be using the one your kids made in Hebrew school about 20 years ago!

I stumbled upon the chicest menorah I have ever seen!

Peter Bashano has exquisite taste and the items you will see on his site Living Beautifully are so stylish and this menorah is proof. I never thought I would describe a menorah as chic. Honestly I'm thinking this with gorgeous tapers and a few fresh flowers would actually turn it into a centerpiece for any day of the week!

You will need something to light up this menorah and all your candles all winter too!

This set of matches in a beautiful blue glass holder from Fete Home is decor in itself. I also think this would be an ideal gift for someone who loves to entertain at home.

Set the table to glimmer and highlight the holiday. Blue, white and silver seem to always be the Chanukah look and I found some great tablescape items that really work all year long.

Whether your look is Boho or sleek and modern there are so many pretty options out there. I just ordered more of this pretty print from Ark Elements. I have this pattern in another color- I found the fabric so soft and they wash so well!

If your look is more neutral and you are looking for something with a bit of shine. I love this metallic linen style from Kim Seybert. Paired with my favorite Flare napkin ring it is elegant and stylish and would work well any time of year. I also think this would be stunning for a dinner party or New Years Eve look with the matching placemat.

Start the night out with cocktails and make it festive with these adorable cocktail napkins.

After many years of ordering for clients and parties I have now made our fun cocktail napkins available in a variety of colors and styles.

A really fun nod to the Chanukah evening would be these linen cocktail napkins from Chefanie. How befitting with the yiddish sayings?! Wouldn't this be a perfect gift for your Mom or Grandma? Or take to Aunt Bessie's as a gift???

Eat, Sleep, Repeat...isn't that basically what we do everyday now?:)

I think the accent of blue is always festive and what better way than add it in a glass to your table. Fete Home has so many cute options to add depth to your table, and these all work well with many color palettes too!.

You can never have too much candlelight. After all this is the Festival of Lights!

All of these candle holder options are perfect for all uses and will certainly bring a glow to the holiday season.

I love the dramatic look of this thick mercury glass Fete candlestick.

You can never go wrong with votives and these from Pottery Barn are great for any use.

The mercury glass come in gold, silver and white and the blue votives are fun to bring a pop of color in anytime.

I don't know about you but I was never a Tv watcher and I'm pretty sick of it all after months at home. Since we are all pretty much a party small groups and staying at home, how about move away from TV and a game of backgammon amongst all that candlelight?

This is such a good looking set it would be a fantastic gift for anyone at this time.

Last but not least, make the menu fun and special.

I saw some zucchini pancakes in the store and thought well that would be a nice change. Then I realized some may really just want the traditional potato, but then there is sweet potato too?!

Well why not all 3?!!

Take a look at the fun Latke Station I whipped up.

Everything here could be bought in the stores at this time- don't feel the need to make it yourself....I happen to like to try recipes but really, just buy it all and still it on a nice tray or board and you will be a hit.

You can do different toppings. I actually used leftover cranberry chutney for the sweet potatoes. Of course there was applesauce and sour cream.

I really like to tag my food, I think it adds decorative touch to the table.

I found these great placecards at Mr. Psplacecards and they would work for place setting or you could use them as buffet cards too! If you order early enough Mr. P's also offers the printing in various fonts.

I would add onion, scallion, smoked salmon as well. I'm not a caviar person but that would be the ultimate addition to the latke board.

I love the look of this white marble ( it is so heavy, really feels well made) and it was so affordable at Target.

Another beautiful and affordable serving piece was this marble laminated tray I found at Amazon. This would work for so many uses!

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing for the weekend I hope you will have a wonderful and shining time!
